Working with media

Media is an essential component of any course. All your media files are stored and ready to be accessed from the Media library. The library can be accessed from Dashboard or Directly from the course whenever needed.

You can work with a variety of media types, such as:

  1. Images: Images are used to add visual elements to a course. Panomio supports several image formats, including jpg, png, and tiff.
  2. Video: Video is an excellent way to demonstrate concepts or show a process in action. Panomio supports two video formats, .mp4 and .mov.
  3. Audio: Audio is often used to add narration or sound effects to a course. Panomio supports two audio formats, .mp3 and .wav.
  4. Subtitles: Subtitles are used to display text on the screen that corresponds to audio or video content. Panomio supports subtitles in the .vtt format.
  5. PDF: PDF files are often used for reading material or documents. A standard .pdf format is supported.
  6. HTML: HTML is used to create interactive and dynamic content. .html format is supported.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind when working with media in Panomio:

  1. Always ensure that your media files are optimized for web delivery and in the appropriate format and resolution. This will help your courses load faster and improve the user experience.
  2. Use descriptive file names and make use of folders inside the Media library. It will make it easier to organize and find your media files.
  3. When audio voiceover, it is recommended to include captions or transcripts to make your content accessible to all learners. There are multiple tools that generate subtitles automatically from voiceover, such as xxx
  4. Ensure you have the appropriate permissions to use any media you include in your courses.
